We built GEM so writers could get a real read on their scripts and get them in front of the right people. Today we're shipping the second half of that promise: Opportunities.
What are Opportunities?
Opportunities are open calls from producers, literary representatives, and financiers — sourced and vetted by us. Each one specifies what they're looking for: genre, format, budget tier, and a minimum score threshold. When you open the Opportunities page, GEM automatically tells you which of your scripts qualify for each one.

How submissions work
Pro members can submit up to 3 scripts per month to any open opportunities. We keep the number limited on purpose — every script that lands on a partner's desk actually gets read.
Submission tracker
When you submit, the partner gets your script, your report, and your profile. They review on their own timeline and reach out if they want to move forward.
What we cut
We stripped out community features — peer reviews, community scores, review invites — that were adding complexity without adding real value for writers. GEM is now focused on two things:
- Evaluations — get a structured read on every script you write, revise and rescore as many times as you want.
- Opportunities — submit directly to vetted industry partners when your script fits what they're looking for.
Everything else was noise. We'd rather do two things extremely well than five things okay.
What hasn't changed
Unlimited evaluations are still included with every Pro membership. Submit as many scripts and drafts as you want, get a full report on each one, download branded PDFs. That's exactly the same.
Your profile is still live at gem.studio/w/your-handle with every script you've published.
What's coming
We're not done. A few things in the pipeline:
- Custom posters generated for every script — a visual identity for your work that lives on your profile and your report page.
- Sharper, more actionable feedback in every evaluation — we're continuously refining the report to give you notes you can actually use in your next draft.
- More opportunities, more often — we're actively expanding the partner network. The more scripts on GEM, the more partners want in.
